Many years ago, we had a change in vendors for the making of this product. As our business model operates in partnership with value-added products, made in conjunction with local vendors, we no longer had the full rights to the old ingredients list and label. Unfortunately, we no longer will have access to the old recipe. This current version of the recipe is what we have been working with, as closely mimicking the old recipe as possible, with a few small changes:
TheHawaiian Saltfrom the previous recipe had been a much larger grain, wherein this new recipe there is a finer grind. Folks often find this more conducive for the making of dips and spreads. While it is true thatthere are some omitted ingredients by way of fennel and dill, these ingredients can be easily added back in if desired. Lastly,the roasted Macadamia nut has replaced the Kukui nut, as kukui nut is much more difficult to find in bulk.
While it is true the old seasoning had a die-hard following, we are finding customers who had not previously tried the old version have an equally dedicated love to this current recipe! We hope that you will find a place for this spice blend on your shelf to enjoy on a daily basis.
