If your skin is feeling especially dry, tight or red, this mask will do moisturizing wonders. The chocolate in this facial mask will provide your skin with needed antioxidants to fight free radicals, UV damage and fine lines and wrinkles. The avocado contains skin-nourishing oils and other moisturizing vitamins. The almonds and honey both offer skin-softening properties, while lavender acts as a soothing anti-inflammatory agent.
1 tablespoon organic cocoa powder
1/2 organic avocado
10-15 organic almonds
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 – 1/2 cup water
4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. The mask should have a thick consistency, but add enough water to give it a whip cream-like texture. Scoop the mixture into a small container.
Cleanse your face before applying the mask. Dab the mask on your face using your fingers in a smooth layer, avoiding your eyes and mouth. Relax, sip some herbal tea and let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes. This is a perfect time to soak in the tub! The mask will begin to harden, like most facial masks, but don’t worry. It’s normal.
Gently rinse off the mask after about 15-20 minutes and enjoy your soft, moisturized skin! The leftover facial mask mixture will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
